I’ve Applied For A Rotary Student Loan.
First Time Student Loan Applicants:
If you submitted your application on time and with all of the required forms, you should receive email notification that your application appears to be complete sometime during the 1st week of June. (If you included a stamped self-addressed envelope, you will receive notification of your application status sooner.) Your email will include a sample promissory note so you and your co-borrowers may familiarize yourselves with it. It may also note specific dates that you and your co-borrowers must meet at the stated location to execute the promissory note. Several dates during the last 2 weeks of June are usually set aside to meet with students and co-borrowers to execute the promissory note. You will have the opportunity to ask the Loan Fund Administrator any questions about the note and payment requirements. All parties to the contract will need to bring a legal photo ID and Social Security card before any checks are released.
Re-applying Student Loan Applicants (Co-borrowers same as last year):
If you submitted your application on time and with all of the required forms, you should receive email notification that your application appears to be complete sometime during the 1st week of June. (If you included a stamped self-addressed envelope, you will receive notification of your application status sooner.) Your letter will include your promissory note and the dates that the Loan Fund administrator will be available at the stated location. You may have signatures of all parties to the contract notarized at your convenience. You may send a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your completed promissory note, spring grades (must show classes taken and cumulative GPA) and all interest due. We will then mail your check to you in the self-addressed stamped envelope you provided. If you prefer, you may have the Loan Fund Administrator notarize your signature(s) and/or pick up the check in person, at the stated location. The Loan Fund Administrator will only notarize the signature of those parties to the contract that appear before her in person and have legal photo ID present.
Re-applying Student Loan Applicants With Different Co-borrowers Than Previous Years:
Any change in co-borrowers requires that the new co-borrower appear in person during the stated dates and times in the letter of notification and must bring legal photo ID and Social Security cards, before checks may be released. All other requirements above must also be met before checks can be released.
Please be aware that you may not co-borrow additional funds for any student if you are party to any contract with the Rotary Student Loan Fund that is not in a satisfactory status.
